We are delighted that our proposed new free secondary school, Deer Park School, has progressed to the pre-opening phase and we are now undertaking statutory (Section 10) public consultation. As the existing schools within the area are already at capacity or oversubscribed, and with the predicted numbers for school places required within the local area increasing, a new seven-form entry secondary school will be required to meet basic need. Hampshire County Council working in partnership with the Department for Education (DfE) and Wildern Academy Trust will build this new school, which will be located on the Woodhouse Lane site of Uplands Farm Estate. The proposed opening date is September 2021 for 120 students, growing year on year to full capacity of 1050 students by 2027. Deer Park School will form part of the Wildern Academy Trust and will be located in close proximity to the existing Wildern cluster of schools, which already have a strong and established relationship with Wildern. We look forward to hearing your views, in order to provide parents/carers and the community we serve with the best schools possible.
