Your first year as a teacher is hugely exciting and full of potential so it is important to find a school which provides you with the right ECT programme. We believe this is us and so do these ECTs that have provided testimonials below.

'I always found that I had someone I could speak to if I were struggling, confused or needed extra guidance with my process as a teacher. The sessions have been insightful, learning about core values and techniques to implement throughout my classes and trialing, testing, and experimenting with ideas taken from the sessions to see whether or not they work with our teaching.'

Miss Di Paola, Wildern School

'My mentor has been instrumental to my development as a teacher. She has supported every decision I have made and encouraged me to take risks. I feel 100% supported, she has made me feel comfortable to be myself at school and has helped settle anxieties I initially had. She is extremely encouraging and is very good at critiquing practice. I appreciate I may be someone who finds feedback hard to take (sometimes) and my mentor is extremely considerate when having these conversations with me.'

Miss Webb, Deer Park School

'I found the session so interesting because it made me realise that challenge is not simply 'a harder task' or something that is seen as more difficult in the child's learning. The session was able to shift my mindset about how I can 'challenge' my children to 'think deeper'. It provided us with examples for a range of subjects and I found it so helpful! I was able to implement some of these ideas in my Year 2 classroom and the children loved them!'

Miss Clarke, Boorley Park Primary School
